The Gite

Our gite is situated in a small hamlet just 10 km from Cognac. It has 2 bedrooms and is situated in 2 acres of secure gardens surrounded by vineyards and woodland which will ensure a peaceful and relaxing holiday yet we are within easy reach of plenty to see and do. This is an ideal base to explore the varied attractions within Charente and the Charente Maritime

The gite is attached to our 18th century Charentaise long house, we have recently converted a cognac chai barn to provide high quality accommodation which has exposed beams and stonework throughout.

There is a 10m x 5 m swimming pool set in a very private garden with views over the woodland at the back of the property. The pool is equipped with sun loungers, table and chairs, there is also an outside kitchen equipped with a fridge, sink, gas hob and gas barbecue and all that you will need to cook alfresco. There is a washing machine for your use in the summer kitchen.

The gite itself has a large open plan living/dining area with satellite television, DVD, Video and free WiFi connection. The living room looks out via French windows to a pretty garden at the rear of the house. The well equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, fridge with a small freezer, microwave oven electric kettle, coffee percolator and toaster, an iron and ironing board are also provided.

We offer 2 large bedrooms, one with a king size bed whilst the second has a double bed and both rooms are beautifully furnished with plenty of storage and hanging space. Both bedrooms have views over the garden at the front of the house where there is an abundance of fruit trees, in the right season you can help yourself to cherries, figs, apples, plums and peaches there is also a grand walnut tree at the end of the garden .

The gite also has a family sized bathroom equipped with both bath and shower.
